God’s Will on Coffee

“Latte.”

Brian Rutledge was ecstatic. Finally, God revealed to him the much-awaited answer! Brian sought God’s will for several months on whether He prefers latte or cappuccino in the morning for him. Bryan explained,
“I believe God is interested in the minutiae of my life. He knows every hair on my head. Surely he has ideas about my actions throughout the day. Why not ask his opinion?”

Then he heard a still, small voice saying, “Latte.” Thus, Bryan rushed to a nearby Starbucks and bought a guilt-free grande latte. He enthused,
“It was one of the great moments of my life. I knew without a doubt that I was in the very center of God's will.”

Now, Bryan is asking if God minds if he adds sugar to his latte, how many packets God prefers him to use, and whether he should use white or brown sugar or Equal. He is still waiting for God’s answer.

Maybe you are scratching your head right now. This is from
http://www.larknews.com, a tongue-in-cheek website that spoofs Christian extreme behaviors while posing as “A good source of Christian News.” Sort of a Christian National Enquirer magazine.

Sadly, art imitates life. The way this fictitious Bryan sought God’s will is much like the way believers tend to ask for directions in life. We forget that God gave us a mind. And He commands us: “Love the Lord your God… with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37, NIV) In order for us to make the right choices, our mind must be renewed. “…let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.” (Romans 12:2b, NLT) We renew our mind through the Word of God. He gave us precepts and principles so we can make the right decisions in life.
Thus, we are to seek His will through His Word.

And, by the way, it is not latte. It’s kapeng barako.☺
